Here it is. Episode 1 – The Classic Grilled Cheese.
I’ve got several criticisms of the video technique. Framing could have been better. There was way too much camera shake when doing the time lapsed heating in the oven. Next time I will use a tripod. Silly me. That’s such an amateur mistake, and I’m ashamed. The opening focus was off a bit and it seems there’s a bit of artifacting going on.
Also, I would have really liked to see the cheese melting out of the sandwich when I cut it. I clearly waited too long to cut the cheese.
And other criticisms are that I don’t know what I don’t know that I need to develop video better… but here it is in all of its warts and glory.
I’m rather pleased with the color and exposure in general. I was using natural light, so the clouds influenced exposure a little.
It was fun to film and edit. I’ve got another one filmed and it’s headed to the editing room.
I hope you enjoyed it.
As always, keep it cheesy.
It looks like this video is having buffering issues. It’s a pretty large file. I’ll try to re-render it to a smaller size while maintaining image quality…
I uploaded a smaller render of the original video, reducing the file size by about 75%. Some people with slow connections might experience buffering issues still.
Ah, the joys of figuring out the balance of video encoding.
